01 / UNDERSTANDING YOUR CARE

Your smile is personal.
Your care should be, too.

Root canal treatment removes inflamed or infected tissue from inside a tooth, cleans the root canals and seals the space. A suitable final restoration then helps protect the remaining tooth. The aim is to preserve a tooth that can be restored.

  • Lingering temperature sensitivity
  • Pain when biting or chewing
  • Swelling or a recurring gum pimple
  • A deep cavity or injured tooth

A close-up of a dental examination
01Does a root canal remove the whole tooth?

No. The treatment works inside the tooth. The remaining tooth is kept when it can be successfully restored.

02Will I need a crown afterward?

That depends on the tooth and how much structure remains. Back teeth often need additional protection after treatment.

03What happens if I delay the final restoration?

The tooth can remain vulnerable to fracture or contamination. Follow the dentist’s plan for completing the restoration.
