Teeth Whitening
As we age, the outer layer of tooth enamel wears away, eventually revealing a darker or yellow shade. The color of our teeth also comes from the inside of the tooth, which may become darker over time. Smoking, drinking coffee, tea, and wine may also contribute to tooth discoloration, making our teeth yellow and dull. Sometimes, teeth can become discolored from taking certain medications as a child, such as tetracycline. Excessive fluoridation (fluorosis) during tooth development can also cause teeth to become discolored. It’s important to have your teeth evaluated by your dentist to determine if you’re a good candidate for bleaching.

At Home Whitening
The first type of dental whitening is an at-home teeth whitening called Poladay + Polanight Professional Whitening System.
With this type of teeth whitening, you will have moulds/impressions taken of your teeth and custom trays will be made to fit your teeth. These small clear trays will be worn with the whitening gel in them to contact the teeth. The type and strength of the gel that is used is determined by the dentist.
As well, you will have a choice whether you would like to use a product that is used during the day while you are at home or a product that goes into the tray at night while you sleep. The first time you whiten your teeth the tray will be worn for a time period of approximately 1-2 weeks after this is complete your teeth reach their maximum white shade.
Typically after the first 1-2 week whitening session, you will only need to touch up for a day or two a few times a year.
Deep Bleaching
For those who have stubborn stains or want the ultimate white, we use the KOR Deep Bleaching/Whitening System.
This type of whitening system is a combination of at-home whitening followed by 1-2 appointments in the office. KOR whitening has revolutionized teeth whitening. This system was developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, an internationally renowned cosmetic dentist and bleaching expert. It is considered the most reliable and effective bleaching system ever developed.
It is a comfortable and easy process that can whiten even the most stubborn stain such as tetracycline stain. It offers low to no sensitivity with no need to give up tea, coffee, or red wine which is notoriously staining to the teeth. It is suitable for ages 14-90.

In Office Bleaching
To speed up the whitening process for those who can’t wait for results we offer the Pola In-Office bleaching system.
